The transparent wavelength range of ZnGeP2 crystal is from 0.74 to 12 μm, and the useful transparent range is from1.9 to 10.6 μm. ZnGeP2 has the largest nonlinear optical coefficient and high laser damage threshold.
ZnGeP2 has been applied in the following application fields:
•OPO @ 2.1-> 3.5-5 μm
•harmonic of CO and2 laser radiation;
•efficient frequency doubling of pulsed CO, CO2 and DF chemical lasers;
•generation of mid-infrared OPO light in the case pumping by CO2 lasers.
•Secondary, third and fourth harmonic generation of CO2 lasers.
•Coherently excited radiation of optical waves in the teratz frequency range 70um-1000um (0.3-4THz)
